P.A.M. Reports Smaller Fourth-Quarter Loss

Truckload carrier P.A.M. Transportation Services said its fourth-quarter loss was smaller than a year ago.

P.A.M. lost $1.1 million, or 12 cents a share, compared with a loss of $3.9 million, or 42 cents, a year ago. Revenue fell 3.3% to $78.2 million.

The carrier cited a variety of factors for the loss, including poor weather and higher fuel costs.

For the full year it lost $655,000, compared with a $10.8 million loss in 2009. Revenue grew 13.7% to $332 million.

P.A.M. is ranked No. 62 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
