Pacer’s Second-Quarter Income Jumps from a Year Ago

ransportation and third-party logistics firm Pacer International said late Tuesday its second-quarter net income more than tripled to $14.5 million or 38 cents a share, from $4.6 million or 12 cents a year ago.

The previous second quarter included write-off and tax costs, the company said. On an adjusted basis, net income rose 28.3% to $3.2 million.

Income from operations rose to $15.4 million from $9.8 million.



Revenue rose to $458.2 million from $454.6 million. Wholesale revenue rose 12% to $292.8 million.

Pacer is ranked No. 18 the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies.
