Pacer Says 3Q Profit Rises, CEO to Retire

ransportation and third-party logistics firm Pacer International said late Wednesday its third-quarter net income rose 25.5% to $18.3 million or 48 cents a share, from $14.6 million or 38 cents a year ago.

Revenue rose to $458.2 million from $441.6 million. Wholesale revenue rose 10.7% to $297.9 million.

Income from operations rose to $31.6 million from $26.1 million.



In a separate release, Pacer announced Thursday that Donald Orris, its chief executive officer, will retire within a year after the company’s board names his successor.

Orris founded Pacer, which is ranked No. 18 the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies, in 1997.
