Pacer International said it has expanded intermodal services between its Pacer Stacktrain unit and BNSF Railway Co., which will allow it to begin full service on BNSF’s network.

The move, announced late Tuesday, is effective immediately, and Pacer said its Stacktrain unit will for the first time have access to the entire BNSF intermodal network in the United States.

Interline service is available to and from Pacer-served CSX Corp. and Canadian National railroad locations, the company said.

The move expands the Pacer Stacktrain network, already operating on Union Pacific and CSX rail lines, which has been provided by Pacer since it acquired Stacktrain in 1999.

Pacer International, which runs rail intermodal, less-than-truckload and warehousing operations, is ranked No. 15 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
