Paccar Is Top IT Innovator In PC Week Magazine List

When PC Week, one of the nation’s leading high-tech magazines, went looking for the top information technology innovator, it turned to a manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks.

Paccar Inc. was ranked the No. 1 company in the magazine’s Fast-Track 500 list for being the first truck maker to join a network exchange linking truck and automobile manufacturers and suppliers into a single global network. In addition, the company has launched initiatives in electronic commerce, enterprise resource planning, data warehousing and specialized Intranet applications that link employees and selected trading partners.

PC Week also honored Paccar for its percentage of state-of-the-art personal computers and for investing in telecommunications and Y2K compliance.

Paccar is an $8 billion corporation based in Bellevue, Wash., that makes Kenworth, Peterbilt, DAF and Foden trucks.
