Pa. I-78 Rest Stop to Be Closed at Night This Week

The trucker parking lot at the Interstate 78 Welcome Center in eastern Pennsylvania — a popular rest stop for longhaul truckers — will be closed most nights this week, and truckers are being advised to make other plans for scheduled rest stops.

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, which made the announcement, said the stop will be closed during the overnight hours of Monday though Thursday for paving and other maintenance work.

The lot will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. in each of the four overnight periods, beginning Monday, the commission said.

It urged truckers to plan ahead and use alternative sites for any long-duration driving stoppages if they regularly use the I-78 center’s parking lot as a rest stop.

The lot is located about two miles west of the I-78 Toll Bridge in Williams Township, Pa.
