Oshkosh’s 1Q Earnings Climb; Company Raises ’06 Forecast

pecialty truck maker Oshkosh Truck Corp. reported Thursday it earned $53.1 million or 72 cents a share for its first fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31, up from $40.6 million or 56 cents a year ago.

Sales rose 22.5% to $644.9 million, the company said in a statement. Operating income rose 28% to $87 million.

Oshkosh also raised its earnings-per-share forecast for fiscal year 2006 to $2.55 to $2.65, from a previous $2.40 to $2.50.
