Oshkosh Reports Higher 2Q Profit

Specialty truck maker Oshkosh Truck Corp. reported a fiscal second-quarter profit of $72.6 million, or 97 cents a share, up from $50.9 million, or 68 cents, a year ago.

Sales rose to $1.8 billion, from $1.7 billion, for the quarter ended March 31, the company said in a statement.

“The outlook for both our access equipment and defense segments gives us confidence in maintaining our full year [earnings per share] estimate range of $4.15 to $4.35 for fiscal 2008,” the company said in a statement.
