Specialty truck manufacturer Oshkosh Corp. said Thursday it expects to take a fiscal third-quarter loss, due to lower sales and a $175 million charge.

Oshkosh expects a loss of $1.22 to $1.32 per share for the fiscal quarter ending Monday, down from an earlier forecast of a profit of $1.40 to $1.50 a share.

The company said it is being hurt by lower-than-expected sales in North America and Europe, driven by softness in nonresidential construction, general economic weakness, and rising fuel and raw materials costs.
