OOIDA Sues Over Mexican Trucks Plan

The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association said Friday it filed suit to block the Department of Transportation’s pilot program to allow some Mexican trucks to run in full United States.

OOIDA said it filed its petition on the basis of that DOT’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration “has not followed Congressional directives to implement its Mexican truck initiatives as a pilot program and has ignored important substantive and procedural rights of professional truck drivers in this country.”

OOIDA said it asked the court to rule on its emergency motion with 14 days.
