Ontario has pegged Nov. 1 as the official starting date of its entry into the International Registration Plan.

The process was expedited and simplified by the provincial passage on Feb. 21 of the Red Tape Reduction Bill, which authorizes Ontario to submit its IRP application.

IRP is a reciprocal registration among U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions. Under the agreement, participants pay license fees based on the number of fleet miles operated within the participating jurisdictions.
