Old Dominion Freight Line Buys Utah LTL Carrier
ld Dominion Freight Line said Tuesday it has signed an agreement to purchase the assets of UW Freight Line, a less-than truckload carrier in Salt Lake City.
UW Freight, which had revenue of about $23 million for its fiscal year ended June 30, operates 18 service centers and one inland port in five states and has another service center under construction, ODFL said in a statement.
Old Dominion said it expects to complete the transaction by the end of January.
The deal will give ODFL its first service in Idaho and Wyoming, increasing the numbers of states in which it operates to 46. It will also enable Old Dominion to launch full-state coverage in Colorado, Idaho, Nevada and Utah, bringing the number of states with full-state coverage to 37.
Old Dominion Freight Line is ranked No. 28 on the Transport Topics list of 100 top for-hire North American carriers.
