Old Dominion Buys Montana Carrier

Less-than-truckload carrier Old Dominion Freight Line said Monday it signed an agreement to buy a Montana trucking company. Terms were not released.

ODFL will buy selected assets of Bob’s Pickup & Delivery Sidney, Mont. BP&D had annual revenue of about $10 million through its 12 service centers in Montana and one in Bismarck, N.D., the carrier said.

Upon the completion of the transaction, which is expected this week, Old Dominion will integrate BP&D’s route structure and service center operations into its network.

As a result, ODFL said it will operate 204 service centers.

Old Dominion Freight Line is ranked No. 20 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
