rude oil inventories rose last week but gasoline and distillate inventories fell, the Department of Energy said Wednesday.
Distillates, which include diesel and heating oil, dropped 3.9 million barrels, a bigger drop than predicted by analysts, Bloomberg reported.
Distillate supplies were 13% above average for this time of year, Bloomberg said.
Oil stockpiles rose 4.8 million barrels, well above the 2.25 million forecast, Bloomberg reported.
Gasoline inventories fell by 900,000 barrels, about in line with expectations.
Crude oil closed at $62.17 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, down 93 cents from Tuesday’s close, Bloomberg reported.
