Oil Falls to Near $70 a Barrel

Oil fell to near $70 a barrel early Monday as the dollar strengthened, Bloomberg reported.

Crude futures fell to $70.28 early Monday from Friday’s New York Mercantile Exchange closing price of $72.04 a barrel

The Department of Energy said last week that distillate fuel supplies, which include diesel, gained 2.2 million barrels for the week ended Sept. 12 to 167.8 million barrels, which was the highest level in more than 26 years.

The Energy Department will release its weekly survey of pump fuel prices Monday in Washington.
