Oil finished the week at a nine-month high over $103 a barrel and took its biggest weekly gain this year, as signs of an improving U.S. economy and progress on a bailout for Greece boosted projected fuel demand, Bloomberg reported.

Crude futures finished the trading day Friday up 93 cents to $103.24 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Bloomberg said.

Oil gained $4.57 this week, which marked the first time it has closed over $100 a barrel in every day of a five-day week on the Nymex since last April.

Diesel and gasoline prices took big jumps this week, the Department of Energy said in its weekly survey this week.

DOE’s survey will be released on Tuesday next week because of the Presidents’ Day holiday on Monday.
