fficials with the new Woodrow Wilson Bridge project near Washington, D.C., are warning southbound truckers and motorists to stay away from the bridge this weekend, as traffic is switched from the old to the new bridge.

The Interstate 95 bridge, which crosses the Potomac River between Maryland and Virginia, will be closed to a single lane southbound starting Friday night at 8 p.m. and lasting through as long as early Monday morning, officials said.

Officials suggested southbound truckers find alternate routes.

By Monday morning, all six lanes on the bridge will be carrying traffic on I-95, part of the Capital Beltway around Washington.
