INDIANAPOLIS — Odyne Systems showcased a fuel tanker truck equipped with a plug-in hybrid system at the Work Truck Show here and revealed the identity of a customer for the technology.

Waukesha, Wisconsin-based Odyne’s proprietary system can provide 6-18 kilowatts of exportable power for powering air compressors, jackhammers and other job site equipment, the company said.

Three trucks with the system are being readied for deployment by Duke Energy, Charlotte, North Carolina.

“We are pleased to be showcasing another new application for our proven system,” Odyne CEO Joe Dalum said. “We look forward to supporting other tanker users.”
