2019 Preview

When: May 10-11, 2019

Where: Oklahoma City, Okla.

Field: A field of 114 competitors is expected to compete in nine categories.

Preview: Oklahoma's 2018 Grand Champion, LaVern Reimer of Walmart Transportation, will be back to defend his title. He'll be joined by Nick Arnold, the FedEx Freight driver who not only won 4-Axle in Oklahoma last year, but did so on the national stage in Columbus, Ohio, as well. Other notable drivers who are registered include Floyd Olson of Walmart, James Fabian of ABF Freight System, Orlando Williams of FedEx Express and Kenneth Pyle of FedEx Freight — all of whom won individual state classes in 2018.

"The TDC is a great way to promote our industry, our drivers and our trucking companies across the U.S.," said event chairman Houston Brittain, director of risk management for Miller Truck Lines & Paul Transportation. "Today we live in a society where one accident can cause major damage to our industry and all we hear are negative comments. This competition shines a positive light on our industry by recognizing some of the best drivers in each state for their commitment to safety while showing off their driving skills and knowledge of the trucking industry."
