The country’s top truck driver will be honored at the Management Conference & Exhibition, the annual industry gathering hosted by American Trucking Associations.
National Truck Driving Championships Grand Champion Scott Woodrome will join other honorees during an awards luncheon Oct. 28.
Woodrome won the Tank Truck class at the 81st annual contest en route to his best-in-show coronation. The competition was held in August in his home state of Ohio. At an awards ceremony, Woodrome praised peers and colleagues committed to promoting safety across the nation’s highways.
“We all work together for safety. And it’s making a difference,” Woodrome told the NTDC audience Aug. 18. “[The competition] truly breeds safety and makes each one of us better each day and every day when we’re on the highways.”
Woodrome, a FedEx Freight driver, has compiled nearly 2 million safe driving miles.
MCE is scheduled for Oct. 27-30 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.
