November Load-Board Activity Decreases, DAT Says

Load-board activity in November fell 9.5%, led by flatbed loads, but increased on a year-over-year basis, according to DAT, a load board owned by TransCore.

Load availability dropped 21% for flatbeds and 5% for refrigerated loads, DAT reported Dec. 17 in its monthly North American Freight Index report. Dry-van freight availability gained 0.9%.

DAT attributed the activity decrease to the fact that November had four fewer business days than October. Compared to the previous November, availability grew 0.8%.

Spot-market rates in November rose 5% for dry vans and 1.9% for reefers, while flatbed rates fell 2.5%, DAT said.
