NMFTA’s Pugh Resigns as Executive Director

Bill Pugh, executive director and general counsel of the National Motor Freight Traffic Association, resigned the post he has held for the past six years, NMFTA said.

“We regret to lose Bill’s contributions to the advancement of NMFTA and the motor carrier industry as a whole,” the group said in a statement.

The resignation was announced shortly after the organization made public its plans for a major restructuring to comply with a Surface Transportation Board ruling that removed antitrust immunity from all rate bureaus.

Pugh worked for the NMFTA for the past 32 years, mostly as the organization’s general counsel.
