SAN ANTONIO — Faced with a stagnant membership that is unwilling to play hardball politics to win legislative changes in surface transportation policy, the National Industrial Transportation League is increasing its emphasis on outreach to carriers and increasing member services.
At its 92nd annual meeting, held just blocks from the Alamo, where Texans fought for their independence more than 160 years ago, NITL Chairman Gerald C. Mayer and President Edward M. Emmett described the challenges shippers face on the freight frontier at the turn of the century.
