The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will hold a public meeting Feb. 13 in Washington, D.C., to seek public comment on its vehicle performance guidance for automated vehicles, the agency announced Jan. 23.

The guidance seeks to speed the delivery of an initial regulatory framework for highly automated vehicles as well as encourage conformance with best practices to guide manufacturers and other entities in the safe design, development, testing and deployment of HAVs, NHTSA said.

The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters at 1200 New Jersey Avenue S.E. in Washington.

The meeting also will be webcast live, and a link to the webcast will be available through http://www.nhtsa.gov/nhtsa/av/index.html.
