ess-than-truckload carrier New England Motor Freight will build a new 72,000-square-foot terminal in Hagerstown, Md., the carrier said Tuesday in a release.

The new terminal, which will be built close to where Interstates 80 and 71 converge, will replace a leased facility near the Maryland-Pennsylvania border along Interstate 81, the Associated Press reported.

The new terminal will begin construction in June 2007 and is expected to be completed in July 2008, New England Motor Freight said in a statement.

The facility will cost $13.5 million to build.

New England Motor Freight is part of the Shevell Group, which is ranked No. 57 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
