Nevada Troopers Riding in Rigs to Catch Agressive Drivers

A program in Nevada aims to catch dangerous by putting state troopers in trucks, the Associated Press reported.

The Nevada Highway Patrol said last week that it had leased three trucks and hired drivers to drive with state troopers. When a trooper sees a car driving aggressively or cutting off the truck, he will call another trooper to make a traffic stop, AP said.

The target of the program is smaller cars, and not other trucks, AP said. It aims to reduce the number of collisions involving trucks and cars.

Trucks will drive around Reno, Las Vegas and Elko until February. The program uses federal funding, AP said.
