N.C. DOT Supports Eliminating 3 Toll-Road Mandates

The North Carolina Department of Transportation supports a bill removing a mandate to build three toll-road projects, the Associated Press reported.

The House bill, which was altered by the Senate, removes requirements to build toll-road projects in the northern Outer Banks, as well as near Charlotte and near Wilmington, AP reported.

State Transportation Secretary Tony Tata told legislators the DOT supports the bill and previously said in a letter that the department believes all projects should compete for funding through the state’s data-driven prioritization process, according to AP.
