Navistar Reaffirms 2006 Earnings Guidance

avistar International Corp., the parent company of truck manufacturer International Truck and Engine Corp., again affirmed that its profits will exceed $5.38 a share in 2006, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

The company originally released the $5.38 estimate in May, reaffirming it early in June and late July. (Click here for previous coverage.)

In addition, Daniel Ustian, Navistar’s chief executive officer, said in a statement that worldwide shipments of International medium, heavy and severe service trucks and IC brand school buses during the first nine months of 2006 totaled 98,900 units, a 6.1% gain compared with 93,200 units in the first nine months of 2005.



Navistar, which has not reported earnings in a year, is still in the process of restating its results from 2002 through most of 2005, Bloomberg said.
