Michelin’s Second-Half ’05 Profit Jumps

ire maker Michelin’s second-half 2005 profit rose 74% to about $600 million from $340 million a year earlier, Bloomberg reported.

Michelin is the maker of Michelin, B.F. Goodrich, Uniroyal and Kleber tires.

The Paris-based company, which reports its earnings in Euros, also said its 2006 profit outlook matched last year’s, Bloomberg reported.



Revenue from heavy-truck tires last year rose 3.5% to about $6 billion, while automobile tire sales rose 3.9% to $10 billion.
