Michelin Plans Expansion at Nova Scotia Truck Tire Plant

Michelin North America announced a C$73 million expansion to its truck tire plant in Waterville, Nova Scotia.

The company said it will make capital investments and add technologies to support continued growth of wide-base tire products like its Michelin X One for commercial trucking in North America.

The added investment will add about 50 jobs at the plant, Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter said in a statement released by Michelin.

The Waterville facility, which opened in 1982, makes radial truck, off-road and heavy-duty earthmover tires. During its last significant expansion from 2005-2007, Michelin invested C$92 million to begin production of wide, single truck tires.
