Component maker Meritor Inc. said it has been selected by Vantage Trailers to supply trailer components as standard equipment on all Vantage products.

Standard Meritor components now available on Vantage Trailers include MTA top-mount, MTA low-mount suspensions, lift kits, Meritor tire inflation system by PSI, automatic slack adjusters and wheel-end components.

Based in Katy, Texas, Vantage Trailers makes several different types of aluminum-body trailers.

“Meritor’s long history of innovation in suspension and brake technology gives our customers the assurance that they are relying on world-class solutions in the areas of safety, performance and running cost,” said Todd Finney, Vantage Trailers’ president and chief operating officer.

Meritor, Troy, Mich., is also a Tier 1 supplier to truck makers, supplying axles, brakes and safety systems through its Meritor Wabco joint venture.

Meritor, formerly ArvinMeritor, began manufacturing trailer components in 1948. In North America, the company has produced more than 10 million trailer axles offering more than 50 different axles for use in a broad range of trailer applications.

“Meritor is pleased to be chosen as a standard supplier to Vantage Trailers, a company with a well-deserved reputation for building quality and long-lasting trailers,” said Craig Frohock, Meritor’s general manager of aftermarket and trailers. “We believe the addition of Meritor value-added components will strengthen that reputation.”
