Menlo Opens Chicago-Area Export Facility

Menlo Worldwide Logistics said that it has opened an export logistics center in Joliet, Ill., to serve heavy duty equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Inc.

The dedicated facility is a 350,000-square-foot building, though initial operations will only used 202,000 square feet of it, Menlo said in a statement Monday.

Menlo will provide export consolidation services, such as receiving, packaging and shipping, from the new facility.

Menlo Worldwide Logistics is a unit of Con-way Inc. It is ranked No. 25 on the Transport Topics 50 listing of U.S. and Canadian logistics companies.
