Menlo Brokerage Expands Into Eastern Europe

Menlo Freight Brokerage, part of Con-way Inc., announced the expansion of services in Eastern Europe through the opening of an office in Prague.

The statement said the expansion covers the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Romania and Russia. The brokerage business is part of Menlo Logistics, one of three units of Con-way, which ranks No. 4 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.

Menlo Managing Director Tony Gunn said the office provides a different approach from freight forwarding that is widely used in Europe.

“Brokerage has greater flexibility and operates with a wider supplier portfolio, creating better purchasing power and worldwide coverage,” he said.
