Memorial Day Weekend Travel to Drop, AAA Says

The number of Americans traveling by automobile more than 50 miles will fall by 1% Memorial Day weekend, the first such drop in six years, the motorist group AAA said.

AAA said many Americans are feeling a financial pinch because the average price of retail gasoline has jumped more than 20% from a year ago.

The number of U.S. air travelers for Memorial Day weekend, which runs from Friday through Monday, will decline by about 0.5%, AAA said.
