latbed carrier and logistics provider Maverick USA said Monday it intends to purchase Schneider National’s Specialized Division, the largest glass carrier in North America.

Terms were not released for the deal, which is expected to close by July 31. The new entity will operate as Maverick Specialized, LLC.

The sale will enable Maverick to expand its services to include national specialized glass transportation and allow Schneider to focus on its core business, the companies said in a joint statement.

Maverick will acquire 380 tractors, 870 trailers, more than 425 drivers and independent contractors, 80 office and maintenance associates and other load-related equipment and dedicated operations.

The deal also includes several U.S. facilities including in Laurinburg, N.C. and Knoxville, Tenn.

“Maverick Specialized plans to retain all Schneider Specialized drivers, shop, and office associates and looks forward to a successful future as they join our team,” said Steve Williams, Maverick’s chairman and chief executive officer.
