Marten’s Second-Quarter Income Dips

Refrigerated truckload carrier Marten Transport’s second-quarter net income fell to $3.5 million, or 16 cents a share, from $4.3 million, or 20 cents, a year ago.

Operating revenue from trucking and logistics operations rose 15.3% to $160 million, the company said in a statement late Tuesday.

Truckload revenue per tractor per week, net of fuel surcharges, rose to $3,128, from $3,108 a year ago, Marten said.

Marten is ranked No. 47 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
