Marten’s 1Q Profit Jumps 33%

Marten Transport’s first-quarter profit jumped 33% on higher logistics and truckload revenue.

Net income rose to $5.4 million, or 25 cents per share, from $4.1 million, or 19 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue rose 10% to $151.5 million, the refrigerated carrier said late Tuesday. Its logistics revenue, net of intermodal fuel surcharges, rose 9.6% to $33.4 million.

Marten Transport is ranked No. 43 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
