Marten Transport’s Earnings Exceed Its Guidance

efrigerated truckload carrier Marten Transport’s fourth-quarter income rose 4.9% to $5.1 million or 23 cents a share, from $4.8 million or 22 cents a year earlier.

The earnings were higher than the company’s projected 19 to 22 cents per-share forecast. The earnings reflect the carrier’s three-for-two stock split issued in December. (Click here for previous coverage.)

Operating revenue rose 16.2% to $119.6 million, the company said late Monday.



Freight revenue for the quarter excluding fuel surcharges and non-freight revenue rose 7.4% to $97.1 million.
