efrigerated truckload carrier Marten Transport said it expects to earn 19 to 22 cents per share in the first quarter.
The expected results relate to a slowdown in customer demand compared with expectations, particularly late in the quarter, Marten said in a statement.
Financial analysts were expecting first-quarter earnings of 25 cents a share, excluding exceptional items, and earnings of 27 cents a share, Reuters reported.
Marten said it will release its first-quarter results on April 24.
Marten is ranked No. 57 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
