efrigerated truckload carrier Marten Transport’s third-quarter income rose 5.7% to $6.7 million or 31 cents a share, from $6.4 million or 29 cents a year earlier, the company said Thursday.
Operating revenue rose 14.1% to $135.8 million, the company said in a statement.
The company’s revenue included fuel surcharges of $22.5 million. Excluding the surcharges, revenue rose 9.6% compared with 2005.
Marten is ranked No. 53 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
