Magellan Unveils RoadMate GPS Device

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Magellan is unveiling an Android truck GPS device at the Mid-America Trucking Show, the company said.

The RoadMate RC9485T-LMB features a 7-inch glass capacitive touch panel to assist professional drivers with route-planning based on height, weight, width, length and hazmat restrictions.

It also provides landmark guidance, highway lane assistance and multiple-stop routing capabilities. The device will be available in May for a suggested price of $399.99.

"Our new RoadMate RC9485T-LMB Android navigation device offers a vast collection of truck-specific features that improve driver safety and make driving more productive for professional commercial drivers," said Stig Pedersen, associate vice president of product management for Magellan. "This is all accomplished while still offering drivers Magellan's best-in-class software, ease-of-use and connectivity."
