Mack, Volvo File With EPA to Certify Engines for 2007

ack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America have filed applications with the Environmental Protection Agency to certify their engines to 2007 emissions standards, the manufacturers said Tuesday.

Mack’s new MP series of engines use a combination of exhaust gas recirculation and a diesel particulate filter to meet the EPA ’07 requirements, which will go in effect Jan. 1, the engine maker said in a release.

Volvo Trucks North America’s application covers the manufacturer’s D11, D13 and D16 engines, the company said.
