Lytx Inc. reported record subscription growth in 2014 as more fleets adopted its DriveCam safety program.

The technology vendor said it added 57,000 DriveCam subscriptions during the year, pushing the company’s total to more than 200,000.

“The momentum toward video-based safety and compliance solutions is accelerating across most transportation segments as evidenced by our continued trend of doubling subscriptions every two years,” CEO Brandon Nixon said in a statement.

Lytx, based in San Diego, said more than 200 companies joined the DriveCam program in 2014.

DriveCam uses an onboard video recorder to help fleets identify and correct risky driving behavior, thus reducing crash risk.

Lytx also provides Rair compliance services to help fleets ensure regulatory compliance and improve their scores under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Compliance, Safety, Accountability program.

The technology supplier said 450 out of the 1,300 clients using DriveCam, Rair or both expanded their fleet deployment in 2014.

“We expect to continue on our growth trajectory in 2015, scaling up functions and adding system features to ensure we are constantly elevating the value we offer our clients and ultimately making our roads safer,” Nixon said.
