Lundberg Reports First Gasoline Price Drop Since November

he national average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline fell 3 cents to $2.30 a gallon over the past three weeks, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

It was the first decline since November in Lundberg's twice-monthly national price survey.

Gasoline wholesale prices fell 13% last week to $1.4621 a gallon on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Bloomberg reported.



Mid-grade cost $2.40 a gallon while the price premium was $2.50, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her report.

Gas prices are 39 cents higher than they were last year, Lundberg said.

Among stations surveyed, the lowest average price in the country for regular unleaded was in Portland, Ore., at $2.07 a gallon. The highest price was $2.78, in Honolulu.
