LTL Carrier Brandt Truck Line Shuts Doors

Brandt Truck Line, an 88-year-old less-than-truckload carrier based in Bloomington, Ill., shut its doors Tuesday, giving no prior notice.

“We made no pickups Tuesday and will do our best to deliver any freight that is still in our system,” the company said in a posting on its website, and a telephone recording said the carrier was no longer operating.

Brandt, which last year reported fewer than 100 trucks and drivers in a federal filing, was founded in 1923.
