Lott Praises Mineta's Choice of Jackson as DOT Deputy
WASHINGTON — Michael P. Jackson, nominated to be Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta’s deputy, is a well-qualified shoo-in for the job, according to Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott.
At Jackson’s confirmation hearing April 25 before the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, Lott called him a proven leader who is in step with Mineta’s stated goals of promoting safety, eliminating congestion, using technology to develop solutions and getting projects off the drawing board quicker.For the full story, see the April 30 print edition of Transport Topics.
