Letters to the Editor: Remembering Mike Russell
he Russell family appreciates the expressions of high regard for our brother, Mike. He was fully committed to upholding the positive image of America’s trucking industry, especially in the arena of America’s Road Team and the Marine Corps Trailer Wrap programs.
Living with Mike, we knew he was working at his prime, improving daily on the record he established, as outlined in your press releases.
Though his death was a personal tragedy for each of us, our being together at the time has proved to be a blessing and a strengthening for the family.

The passing of Mike Russell is a very tragic event. Mike was an excellent leader in his position with American Trucking Associations. (Click here for previous coverage.)
I will miss his presence, as I had the opportunity to work along with him as I served on America’s Road Team in 1998 and on several occasions afterward, such as the National Truck Driving Championships.
ATA and the trucking industry have lost a very talented individual who always put the trucking image first in the public view. My sympathies go out to his family and his friends at ATA.
