find it troubling that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is changing drivers’ hours-of-service rules, and nobody is saying anything about compensating drivers.

Most drivers log their mileage log off the [odometer], but companies want to pay them other miles — for example the Good Household Guide [Household Goods Carriers Mileage Guide].

Now that we are going to log this time on duty, but not driving, who is going to compensate the driver using all his or her time not making any money while sitting waiting to be loaded or unloaded?

We should be paid for every mile we drive, plus every hour on duty [but] not driving.
