Leading Economic Indicators Rise Slightly

An index of leading economic indicators rose 0.1% in May, the New York-based Conference Board said Thursday.

The uptick followed a 0.8% gain in April that was higher than first reported.

Economists had forecast a 0.2% gain, Bloomberg reported.

The LEI is closely watched by trucking companies because it forecasts business activity for the next three to six months.
