Leading Economic Indicators Rise in February

An index of leading economic indicators rose 0.5% in February, the New York-based Conference Board said Thursday.

The rise followed a 0.5% increase in January. The February gain was higher than economists' forecast of a 0.4% rise, Bloomberg News reported.

The LEI is closely watched by trucking companies because it forecasts business activity for the next three to six months.
